Party into the night this summer at Busch Gardens

Tigris Summer Nights Busch Gardens

The party is set to start when the sun goes down, as the Summer Nights event makes a welcome return to Busch Gardens in 2019!

With extended park opening times every night until 10pm from 31st May through to 11th August, you have plenty of opportunities to check out all that is on offer at Busch Gardens this year.

Part of the SeaWorld family, this 335-acre park combines thrill rides with family fun and fascinating animal attractions. Make the most of your visit to the park during the daylight hours and get up close to more than 200 exotic and endangered species of animals including lions, elephants, rhinos, giraffes and penguins! You can even catch the Serengeti Express Train which gives you spectacular views of the animals roaming in herds around the Serengeti Plain area of the park – you’ll feel as though you are on an African safari!

Don’t forget to ride all of the coasters in the daylight, before waiting for both dusk and darkness to ride yet again! This year you will have the first opportunity to experience the all-new triple-launch coaster Tigris in the dark! This launch coaster is Florida’s tallest, sending you flying upwards 150ft, before launching you into a heartline roll and travelling backward and forward at speeds exceeding a heart-pounding 60mph! Are you feeling brave enough to give it a go in the dark? Tigris only opened in April, so it is likely that there will be queues to ride the coaster. If you want to get to the front of the line the Quick Queue Unlimited pass might be of interest, as it allows you to skip the lines at many of the park’s rides an unlimited number of times, and Tigris once.

It isn’t just roller coasters and rides that you can enjoy during the extended opening hours – there is plenty of special food, drink and music to enjoy as well!

Why not unleash your inner party animal and dance the night away over at the party zones in Stanleyville and the Cheetah Hunt Plaza, where DJs will be spinning tracks on the decks and getting everyone up and moving to the beat! On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights you will even be joined by the park’s dancers!

If you have two left feet don’t worry – there are lots of delicious food and drink offerings that you can enjoy while the rest of your party are grooving away!

Over in the Stanleyville area head to Tigris Snacks to grab a quick but filling snack. Munch on yummy BBQ pulled pork sliders or how about trying some crispy fried nuggets, followed by a sweet treat? The Churro Sundae – a vanilla ice cream dish served with tasty cinnamon churro sticks and covered in a raspberry and caramel drizzle, is bound to hit the spot! Wash it all down with a boozy adult drink such as the Tigris Refresher – orange juice with whipped-cream flavour vodka.

If you are partying in Cheetah Hunt Plaza, its only a short hop to try out the Fiesta Flavors menu, which includes beef empanadas served up with a chipotle sauce and a selection of beers, frozen margaritas and sangria! If ice-cream is your weakness, then check out the waffle cones and floats near to the Garden Gate Café. Treat yourself to ice cream in a waffle cone, or try out the Fireworks Ice Cream Slushy!

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights there are even more options for food and drink. Enjoy special funfair-style treats on the Festival Pathway – how do the Corn Dog Nuggets served with a dollop of spicy hot sauce sound? If you have a sweeter tooth, the strawberry limeade candyfloss might be just the ticket. Walk on down to the Festival Field to the Peacock Bar and cool off with one of their special Cocktail Popsicles!

After you have filled up with delicious food and drink, make sure that you get a good vantage point for the spectacular 9.30pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday night fireworks display that will bring a fantastic day out to a close!

If you are at the park on 4th July for the Independence Day celebrations, there will also be a special extended fireworks display, with a patriotic twist!

2019 is a special year for Busch gardens, as it marks 60 years since the site first opened. We have looked at some of the events that will be held at the park over the year in a previous blog. Will you be there this year to join in the party celebrations and enjoy the Summer Nights event?
