Aquatica
Overview
If you’re enjoying the Florida sunshine but fancy a refreshing break from the heat, a visit to Aquatica is a brilliant choice for a fun-filled family day out. This vibrant water park, part of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, is a firm favourite with British families booking an Orlando villa holiday, offering a perfect mix of thrills and relaxation.
Pack your towels and swimwear and prepare for a full day of splashing about. Aquatica is packed with water slides, wave pools and lazy rivers to keep all ages entertained. If you’re after a slower pace while the children burn off some energy, you can unwind on the sandy beaches or in one of the quieter relaxation areas dotted around the park.
For those with a competitive streak, Taumata Racer remains a must-do, where you can race family members head-first down multi-lane slides. If you prefer something a little more unpredictable, Roa’s Rapids offers a fast-moving river experience that twists and turns without the need for an inflatable.
Animal lovers won’t want to miss Reef Plunge, where clear tubes send riders speeding through underwater habitats filled with fascinating marine life, offering a unique twist on the traditional water slide experience.
Thrill-seekers should make a beeline for Ihu’s Breakaway Falls, one of the tallest and steepest drop slides of its kind in Orlando. Step into a capsule, wait for the floor to disappear beneath your feet, and plunge down one of four near-vertical slides—each offering a slightly different ride.
Over at Loggerhead Lane, you’ll find a more relaxed pace, but with a few surprises along the way. Tassie’s Twisters delivers plenty of excitement, sending riders spinning around giant bowls before dropping back into the lazy river. It’s a great mix of fun and thrill for families with older children.
Younger visitors are very well catered for too. Walkabout Waters is a large, interactive play area featuring slides, water sprays and a giant tipping bucket, perfect for little ones gaining confidence in the water. There’s also Kata’s Kookaburra Cove, specifically designed for younger children.
Aquatica is a sizeable park, covering around 60 acres, so comfortable footwear is a must when walking between attractions. Complimentary life vests are available throughout, and some rides require their use, helping to keep safety a top priority.
During busy periods, especially school holidays popular with UK travellers, capacity can be limited, so it’s wise to arrive early or book tickets in advance as part of your Orlando villa holiday package. If the park does reach capacity, you’re conveniently close to SeaWorld, which can be a great alternative for the day.
