LEGOLAND Water Park Florida
Overview
LEGOLAND Water Park opened in the summer of 2012, roughly a year after the main LEGOLAND Florida theme park, and is located in Lakeland, Florida, approximately 30 to 40 minutes’ drive from the villa areas we recommend for family holidays. Designed especially for younger children, this water park is smaller than many of the big Orlando water parks but makes an ideal day out for families with little ones — especially if you don’t have teenagers in the group. It’s a perfect addition to a villa holiday itinerary where a couple of relaxed, fun‑filled days are planned around theme parks.
Because of its size and focus on younger guests, most families can enjoy all the attractions the park offers in a single day. The park also has plenty of changing facilities and gift shops, and you’ll find food and drink options when you need a break from the water fun. Do bear in mind that the water park closes during winter months and has some seasonal closures in spring and autumn, so checking opening dates before you travel is recommended.
What’s On at LEGOLAND Water Park: Here’s what you’ll find when you visit this popular family water attraction near Orlando:
LEGO Wave Pool – A gentle wave pool suitable for all the family. The rolling waves are just the right size for younger children to splash about safely while adults supervise from the edge.
Build-A-Raft Lazy River – A signature experience where families can build their own LEGO raft using oversized floating LEGO bricks before drifting together down the 1,000-foot lazy river. It’s a wonderfully relaxing and interactive water attraction.
DUPLO Splash Safari – Perfect for toddlers and younger children, this colourful play area has large DUPLO animal models, mini slides and splash zones designed with little ones in mind.
Joker Soaker – A lively water play zone boasting multiple slides, fountains and interactive features for kids to climb and play on, plus a giant tipping bucket that drenches anyone below for a giggle-filled surprise.
Splash Out – A bigger water slide for more adventurous children. After climbing to the top, riders can choose from thrilling slide options before dropping into the cool pool below. Minimum height requirements apply.
Twin Chasers – Older children and adults can race each other down two twisting, enclosed slides that run alongside one another and finish in a refreshing splash pool.
Eating and Facilities: You’ll find food and drink options in the park — from quick-service meals like burgers, sandwiches and salads to soft drinks and snacks — so it’s easy to keep everyone fuelled for more water fun. The outdoor dining areas provide shady spots to take a breather between rides.
Important Practical Info: The water park closes in the cooler winter months and typically operates on a limited schedule during shoulder seasons (spring/autumn), so always check opening times before setting out on your journey from your villa.
