Things to Do in Orlando for Couples

Orlando for couples

On the face of it, Orlando may seem like it is mainly geared towards attractions and entertainment for the younger generation. Granted, the slew of theme parks and non-stop excitement may have a stronger appeal for younger visitors, but this is not to say that couples, young and old, will struggle to enjoy themselves in this amazing region. If you’re planning a trip to Orlando with just you and your loved one, then these are some of the things you can do!

The Wheel at ICON Park

Living up to its name, ICON Park is home to numerous attractions, restaurants, shops, and most importantly, the iconic Wheel. This offers visitors a unique perspective of Orlando and the surrounding areas. Measuring at 400ft, the 30-capsule ferris wheel offers various packages from basic admittance, to private capsules for celebrating special events.

Hot Air Balloon Flight (Orlando Balloon Rides)

If 400ft in the air isn’t quite high enough for you, why not try cruising around the Orlando area at an altitude of 1000ft? Orlando Balloon Rides is a company that offers visitors a chance to experience Orlando from a bird’s eye view, with rides lasting anything from 45 minutes to over an hour (depending on weather). Once you have concluded your tour, you will toast your adventure with a glass of Champagne!

Kayaking Tours (BK Adventure)

After conquering the skies, why not take to the water for your next activity? BK Adventure offers a range of daytime and nighttime kayaking tours that will take you through some of the most picturesque waterways in Florida. It is common to encounter dolphins and manatees on daytime tours, along with the occasional alligator! The nighttime tours are even more spectacular as they highlight the bioluminescent wildlife that calls the river home. You’ll likely see jellyfish as well as plankton and many other fish that all shine brightly after the sun sets; a surreal experience!

Island Grove Winery in Kissimmee

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxing during your break to Orlando, then a visit to the Island Grove Winery is a must. Whether you want to buy, taste or learn about wine, then the winery will happily indulge, offering tours and tastings alongside a very well-stocked shop. The winery is very easily accessible from the majority of our villas, located just a few minutes away from Lake Wilson.

Lake Louisa State Park

Visiting the Sunshine State, it would be a shame not to take advantage of the glorious weather. Why not head to Lake Louisa for some much-deserved downtime? Located just outside of Orlando centre, the park is easily accessible from the US27. With lots of sheltered trails, sunny clearings and one of the few swimmable lakes in the area, this is the perfect place to spend a few hours recharging your batteries before heading back to the hustle and bustle.

Winter Garden

If you and your partner want to head out and explore more of the surrounding area, then we suggest making your way to Winter Garden. Just under half an hour drive from the centre of Orlando, the historic town is perfect for exploring, with plenty of shops, places to eat and an amazing farmers' market. You can even head over to Crooked Can Brewery to sample some of the local produce!

Hire a Car and Head to the Coast

Nothing says the American dream quite like a road trip! In Orlando, there are numerous car hire options ranging from compact Ford Fiestas to the powerful Mustang. With Orlando being so close to the coastline, it’s easy to drive there and back in a day, while using Orlando as a base. If you’re heading east, then look to either Daytona Beach or Titusville. Heading west, you can visit Sarasota or Siesta Key for a relaxing time by the beach, soaking up some sun.

Have a Spa Day

Orlando is home to numerous fantastic spa locations, such as the Mokara Spa at ChampionsGate or the Reunion Resort Spa. We’d suggest starting with a couple’s massage that will set the relaxing tone for the day. If you’re looking to unwind after a busy holiday in Orlando, then a spa day is a great option before you head back home. Alternatively, you could choose to enjoy the private spa at your very own Orlando villa.

One of the best ways to see this magnificent city is to book one of our Orlando Villa Holidays. You’ll have your own private space to enjoy your stay, close to the many attractions of the city.
