All you need to know about Disney PhotoPass Day 2018

Disney PhotoPass Day 2018

On 19th August, visitors to the Disney parks are given a special treat to treasure long after their holiday! On this day, Disney celebrate PhotoPass Day, where with help from the specially-trained photographers, guests can have some exclusive ‘Magic Shots’ taken. These pictures are enhanced with images of your favourite characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Simba, Rizzo the Rat, Tinker Bell, Dumbo and Peter Pan. You’ll not know who is in your photo until you look at it later in the ‘My Disney Experience’ app, so try and get as many pictures as you can, to make sure you have a picture with your favourite! ‘Magic Shots’ are available all year, but on PhotoPass Day there will be some unique opportunities, available for this day only!

‘Magic Shots’ are part of the Disney Memory Maker package which is included in the price with all UK tickets purchased from Debbie’s Villas. Memory Maker includes all PhotoPass pictures taken by the photographers. These pictures are loaded into your Disney account, which you can then download as many times as you want to later on. Some character dining pictures and attraction rides are also included as part of the package. Your MagicBand or PhotoPass card also entitles you to discounts on prints of your photographs whilst you are in Orlando. Disney’s Memory Maker gives Mum and Dad peace of mind that special moments on your unforgettable holiday aren’t going to be lost forever once you leave Florida.

There are two types of ‘Magic Shot’. With the first, you are asked to pose by a photographer, and one of Disney’s iconic characters will, with a little classic Disney magic, appear in the picture! For the second variety you need to track down a PhotoPass photographer who is holding a prop. You then use or pose with the prop and the resulting photo will look like you are interacting with one of Disney’s famous characters! For example, locating one with a sword could result in you having a digital duel with Darth Vader or even Captain Hook! But there are many others for you to find. So look out for them on your trip around the parks.

“We love the PhotoPass photographers and they were easy to find in the parks. Try using the Disney app to find them.”

These special PhotoPass opportunities are scattered throughout the attractions and are available for differing amounts of time. A character such as Dumbo, for example, available near his Flying Elephant ride from 9am in the morning until 8pm that day, whereas the Beauty and the Beast photo prop, is only available between 8pm and 10pm near the Theater to the Stars; so be sure to grab as many of the special photos whilst you can! If you wish, you could even ask them to take a photo on your mobile phone.
