Take a dip in your heated private pool

We know that many of our customers enjoy a relaxing dip in their own private pool, which is why we make sure that pool heating can be added if desired.

If you are travelling to Orlando between October and April and intend to use the pool a lot, we recommend that you add pool heating to your booking. This can be added at any point in the booking process.

We often receive questions about pool heating in our villas, which is why we’ve put together this blog. You’ll also find this information inside your Orlando holiday booklet when you book a villa with us.

Pool heating charges

Pool heating is an additional charge and it differs from villa to villa. The average cost for heating a pool in Orlando is £20 per night (some villas also charge a one off fee of £25, minimum charge of 7 consecutive nights). The price can also vary by villa depending on the size of the pool and if it is a gas or electric heater. The exact price will be displayed during the booking process for your chosen villa, so please ensure that you have checked this prior to booking. It’s not a problem if you’ve already booked a villa and not added the pool heating, just give us a call on 01892 836822 and we can add it for you.

We do suggest that pool heating be ordered in advance to allow warm-up time but it can be added during your stay. If you wish to have it turned on after your arrival then please contact the local management company; they can arrange this for you on receipt of the appropriate fees.

Pool heating temperatures

Pool heaters will typically maintain a water temperature of approximately 10˚f (5.5˚c) above the air temperature to a maximum of around 85˚f (29.4˚c).

It is important to remember that the pool heaters will not heat the pool to bath temperature, but will take the chill off the water.

The pool heating generally makes the water warm enough to comfortably swim, but not hot. During the cooler months of the year, the pool may still feel ‘fresh’ but not icy cold.

More important information about pool heating in your Orlando villa

• Pool heaters do not operate 24 hours a day. The majority run for 12 hours a day at the same time as the pool pump is operating. As a result, the pool will feel a little cooler first thing in the morning.
• It make take up to 24 hours for the pool to reach maximum temperature after you arrive.
• We do not guarantee pool or spa temperatures because they can be affected by air temperatures and prevailing weather conditions.
• If the air temperature falls below 55˚f (12.8˚c) the pool heater will automatically switch off to prevent overheating of the pump through constant use. It will automatically switch on again when the air temperature rises past this point. No refunds can be given if this happens as it is outside of our control. If the long-term forecast is for cold weather then we would advise you to contact us in order to have the pool heater switched off and a possible partial refund to be made.
• If the overnight temperature drops below 50˚f (10˚c), it may take longer for the pool to get back up to normal temperatures the next day.
• After periods of heavy rainfall, the pool will be cooler than normal because of the amount of rainwater that has fallen in it.

The Abbey on West Haven 4 bed villa

This modern four bedroom villa on the West Haven community is perfect for the needs of the entire family. Close to the theme parks and beautiful views within the community itself, this house has a lot to offer.

• Pool deck - The large southwest-facing pool deck, with a very good amount of privacy and open views, has a pool with spa and an outdoor dining table seating six. It’s a beautiful pool deck for the entire family to enjoy. There is also an outside bathroom for added convenience.

• Inside the villa - As you enter the villa you are welcomed by an open-plan lounge and kitchen area. The family lounge includes a sofa, loveseat, two chairs, a flatscreen TV and doors out onto the pool deck. To the left of the front door is a well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar seating two people. Next to the kitchen is a formal dining area seating eight. The Master bedroom is next to the lounge with a King-size bed and doors to the pool deck. Upstairs are the other three bedrooms; one with a Queen-size bed and two with Twin beds.

• The Abbey on West Haven community - This villa sits on the sub-community of The Abbey within West Haven, which is a large community on the Ronald Reagan Parkway. There are 58 homes on The Abbey with many of them overlooking conservation areas. Staying here means you will only be 15 minutes drive away from Disney and 25 minutes from Universal and SeaWorld. Shops, restaurants and golf courses are all within a short driving distance too.

Highlands Reserve 5 bed villa

This Highlands Reserve villa is very spacious and features a west-facing pool deck with views of the golf course, as well as a great games room. With three lounge areas and five good-sized bedrooms, there’s plenty of space for the whole family to get together and make memories to last a lifetime.

• Pool deck - The beautiful, large west-facing pool deck with complete privacy and views of the golf course to the rear, has a private pool, spa and splash area with a fountain, as well as an outdoor dining table seating six people. Perfect for the whole family to get together and enjoy their time outdoors in the Florida sunshine.

• Inside the villa - To the right of the front door is a formal lounge area with two sofas and a flatscreen TV and DVD player. Next to this is a formal dining area seating eight people. Continuing through to the back of the villa is an open-plan family lounge and kitchen, with patio doors to the pool deck. The lounge has a large “L” shaped sofa and flatscreen TV. The well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar and breakfast dining. Upstairs is an additional lounge with a flatscreen TV. This villa also has a games room with a pool table, for a bit of family competition!

• Highlands Reserve community - The famous Highlands Reserve, built in 2000, is situated on the US27, just minutes away from a supermarket and restaurants, and a few miles from Disney. If you have a golf fan in your group they will be over the moon with the award-winning golf course right in the heart of this beautiful community.

The Retreat on ChampionsGate 6 bed villa

This nicely-presented six bedroom villa offers your family plenty of space indoors and out. Each bedroom has been beautifully-decorated, there’s plenty of lounge space for everyone and also a games room for some family fun.

• Pool deck - The villa has a large relaxing private pool and spa with lots of comfortable seating and loungers surrounding the pool. There is also a covered area for those wanting to seek a bit of shade, with an outdoor dining table and a small coffee table with cushioned seating. The pool deck is a great place for relaxing during rest days and enjoying some alfresco dining with the family at the end of your busy day.

• Inside the villa - The main family lounge is at the back of the villa and has two sofas and two armchairs, as well as a large flatscreen TV. To the right of the lounge is a formal dining area seating eight people and patio doors to the pool deck. To the left of the lounge area is a modern, open-plan kitchen with a breakfast bar. Adjacent to the kitchen is a lounge/playroom area with a sofa and a large flatscreen TV. A second lounge area is on the first floor and includes a large "L" shaped sofa, an arm chair and a flatscreen TV. The villa has six spacious and modern bedrooms, including two themed bedrooms, which the kids will love. One of them is Minions-themed and the other has a Mickey Mouse theme. There’s enjoyment to be had for everyone in this holiday home as it also features a well-equipped games room, including a pool table and air hockey.

• The Retreat on ChampionsGate community - The Retreat is a large, resort-style sub-community, which sits within one the most popular destinations in Florida, ChampionsGate. There's plenty of amenities within the community including a cinema, full restaurant, swimming pools including a lazy river and water slides, a swim-up bar and sports courts. Disney theme parks are just 20 minutes from the community by car.
