Take on this towering forest adventure with all the family

Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park

Are you feeling adventurous? If you have a good head for heights, or just want to challenge yourself, then Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park might well be your ideal destination!

With a range of aerial obstacle courses set in the 15-acre pine tree forest which get progressively more tricky as you make your way around the park, Tree Trek Adventure is conveniently located near to the holiday communities of Indian Ridge and Windsor Hills, and is just 15 minutes from the Disney theme parks.

This is a family-run business, belonging to the Lemieux and Barbusci families, whose intention was to design a challenging, yet safe and fun treetop adventure park, using only the best materials and equipment to ensure every visitor has a fantastic experience. With a total of 97 aerial games and adult and junior courses at heights of 10-50ft above the ground, there is fun to be had at every level of ability. For kids aged 7 to 8 there are even two separate specially-designed courses with 21 exhilarating challenges to make sure they don’t miss out on all the fun!

Tree Trek aerial courses

You’ll find yourself working out muscles you didn’t even know you have as you launch yourself into nets, climb ladders, swing on ropes, cross suspended bridges and logs as well as keep your balance on skateboards high above the ground! Adult guests aged 12 and over can test their spatial awareness and climbing skills as they make their way through four challenging stages of the course, before whizzing through the pines as they take a trip down the 425ft long (129m) giant zip line.

Build your climbing confidence as you start with the Green section of the course which has the lowest elevation and requires the least skill to complete, before moving onto the next sections – Blue, Silver and Red in order of difficulty. (Junior thrill-seekers aged 9 to 11 do the Green, Blue and Silver sections as well as the zip line.) If you manage to make it all the way through the course and complete the tricky Red section, which is the furthest off the ground and most challenging, you will have earned bragging rights for the rest of your holiday! If you can’t finish the course don’t worry – you can still enjoy flying through the forest on the giant zip line! If you don’t want to go on the course yourself, you can follow the progress of your family members and cheer them on from the ground. Don’t forget to take some photos as they make their way through the trees!

As safe fun is the priority at Tree Trek you will feel well-supported by the helpful staff at all stages through your adventure! Starting your day at the Welcome Center, you will listen to a brief group training session, and complete your waiver form (this can be downloaded from here for adults and here for under 18s). Next you will get kitted out with all of the correct equipment, before being shown how to attach yourself to the safety and zip lines.

Don’t forget to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, basically no open-toed/slip on shoes – and definitely no high heels!

Remember it’s an outdoor activity and things might get dirty, so bear that in mind. Make sure to leave any jewellery at home too – as necklaces and bracelets can get tangled up. The same goes for your hair – if you have long hair you’ll have to tie it up – staff can provide a hair band if you haven’t got one with you. You will be offered climbing gloves at a cost of $3 and it’s recommended that you take up the offer, as all the holding onto ropes and cables will take its toll on your hands!

Although there aren’t any weight limits on the course, guests must have a waist size of 44” or less to take part. Height however is a factor – for the Kids courses children should be able to reach 4’7” (140cm) high with their feet flat on the ground; Adult course participants must be able to reach to a height of 5’11” (180cm) and Juniors a height of 5’9” (175cm).

There is no time limit on completing the trail, but you should expect to take around two to three hours (including the training session) to make your way around the adult course.

This is the perfect alternative to the theme parks for those looking to have fun with all of the family during their Florida holiday. With something to suit guests of all ages, you’ll be flying high with a great sense of personal accomplishment and pride after you have challenged yourself with as many stages of the course as you can manage! Make sure that you book ahead to avoid disappointment, or a long wait! The site opens at 8am with groups setting off on the trek every half an hour. The last departure time varies by season, so check online or contact the park ahead of your visit.

We’d love to hear how far you managed to get at Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park! Did you manage to complete the entire course and impress your family and friends?
