The Best Seafood Restaurants in Orlando

A plate of king prawns

When it is said that Florida is a feast for all of your senses, it is true! In this blog we’ll be focussing on two inextricably-linked senses, taste and smell! Orlando has some amazing theme parks – this is well known – but did you know that TripAdvisor has listings for over 60,000 eateries in Florida? Having already focussed on places to eat around the US192, as well as great places to eat breakfast in Orlando and fast food joints, we feel it is time to cast our net over the world of seafood! Below you’ll find a few of our favourites, but these are by no means the only ones you’ll find, after all, Florida does have around 663 miles of coastline.

Joe’s Crab Shack

For seafood so fresh it comes in quaint little ‘fishing’ nets, head into Joe’s Crab Shack! With eateries located in 21 American states, eight in Florida alone, you’ll be able to taste why they have been able to grow so much! With guests commonly praising its lively ambience and humorously written-on bibs, the whole family is bound to have an amazing dining experience. Why not try out the steampots? You’ll find everything bundled into a large pot, with some red potatoes and corn added for good measure! Not keen on seafood? You can ‘Stay on shore’ with sirloin steak, chicken nuggets, strip steak or pasta alfredo! You can also get cracking with some classic lobster tail or crab, as well as clams, shrimp and salmon.

Paddlefish

When near Disney Springs, be sure to get your lobster claws into the dishes available at Paddlefish – a full-size modern reimagining of a luxurious steamboat! This award-winning restaurant, with music on the rooftop deck on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as its beautiful views across Lake Buena Vista, makes a relaxing end to a day of fun at Disney World. Try the seafood classics such as lobster bisque and crab cake, before embracing your inner epicure and ordering market-fresh oysters! The swordfish comes highly recommended, but if the seafood or fish doesn’t appeal, there is always filet mignon, pork osso bucco, pasta or a burger to satisfy any diners – in addition to vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. It also couldn’t be in the family-centric Disney site without catering for the kids! Here you can expect salads, soup, grilled chicken, hot dog and pasta, with a brownie sundae or cookies with milk for dessert!

As per other seafood restaurants, steak is also on the menu for those who may not enjoy sea-faring fare! Looking to grab a bite at a bargain price? They also have a happy hour, serving $5 cocktails and $6 bar bites daily, with brunch on Saturdays and Sundays offering ‘endless bubbles and bloody Marys’.

Boston Lobster Feast

If you have been driving out and about in Florida at any point, you may have come across the distinctive method of advertising for Boston Lobster Feast, the Lobstermobile! The red VW Beetle, with a 20ft red lobster attached to its roof, is synonymous with the all-you-can-eat restaurant. For around $55 each, you can stuff your face full of as much, or as little, as you like! Starters include nuggets, clams, mussels, lobster bisque and octopus salad, can all be followed by steak, scallops, chicken marsala, shrimp, salmon, mahi mahi and of course – a whole boiled lobster! They don’t scrimp on side options either! Mac and cheese, mash, fries, jacket potato, corn on the cob, bread rolls, linguini and vegetables all await to accompany your meal. Still have a bit of room? You’ll need it! Dessert consists of chocolate cake, pecan tort, jelly, Key lime pie, biscuits, cheesecake and fruit! If you aren’t a fan of the buffet-style cuisine, you do have the option to go à la carte with some of the aforementioned dishes too.
