Save Big on SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Scream
It may only be the middle of July, but our annual catalogue of Halloween fright nights is very much on the agenda – and SeaWorld wants you to know all about it! Not only are they already proudly promoting this year’s big Howl-O-Scream event, but they are also offering one of the best price deals for those ready to buy their tickets early.
That’s right – buy in advance this month and you’ll save quite a few dollars on this seasonal scream-fest!
Of course, it comes as no surprise to be talking about Halloween in mid-summer these days, as all the parks are now in the habit of kicking off the yearly horror shows well in advance of the usual October scare-athon. For both Universal, with their Halloween Horror Nights programme, and Walt Disney World, with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, things kick off in mid to late August (Aug 29 for Universal, Aug 15 for Disney), while SeaWorld get things going on September 5.
That means tickets are already on sale for our all these fright nights, and NOW is the time to get them, with all kinds of early booking incentives.
Big Savings
Now, we’re used to seeing discounts at quiet times of the year; it’s how the parks adjust for those rare, quiet periods when there are much shorter queues and plenty of opportunity to enjoy the attractions without needing Lightning Lanes, Express passes or any of the other queue-busting systems that all cost extra.
But it’s not often (to say the least), that we see absolutely huge cuts in the regular pricing for events like Howl-O-Scream, hence this latest message from SeaWorld really caught our attention. Here’s what they said:
“As part of the limited-time Sinister Sale, guests can save up to 70 per cent on tickets purchased now through July 27.”
Now THAT’S a great deal. Typically, tickets at the gate on the night will be in the region of $100-$130 per person. But just $36? That’s crazy talk. But it is absolutely pukka and above board. They’re not messing about. Book by with Debbie's Villas by July 27 and you will save a WHOLE lot of cash on an evening of fun and frights, with five indoor haunted houses, six outdoor scare zones, five themed bars and two fab live shows.
Debbie's Villas will have tickets available on the website soon but for now, get in touch to secure your tickets!
What you get at Howl-O-Scream
It may be stating the obvious, but these large-scale Halloween set-piece events are separately-ticketed occasions at each of the theme parks. Regular closing time is 6pm, and all day guests must vacate the park by 7pm. For Howl-O-Scream guests, the event starts officially at 7pm, but gates open at 6.30.
Just be aware, Howl-O-Scream is NOT intended for children (under 14). The parade of the gruesome, grisly and grotesque is meant primarily for an adult audience and, while it is mostly in good fun, there are some genuine shock-horror moments. Like at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, the blood and gore flow freely!
The scare-actors also have licence to roam so, just because you have passed through a scare zone doesn’t mean that some blood-curdling freak or monster might follow you without your immediate knowledge. It is all part of the fun, of course, and there is a strict no-touching policy, but that doesn’t make them any less scary. And it’s amazing how SeaWorld can look far more perilous and menacing at night.
For those seeking thrills beyond the scares, the park’s legendary array of coasters – including Mako, Manta, Kraken, Ice Breaker and Pipeline: The Surf Coaster – will all operate throughout the night, delivering adrenaline-pumping experiences under the cover of darkness, and there is a really different feel to riding them at night from the usual day-time vibe.
Tell us about the haunts!
This will be the fifth year of SeaWorld’s spine-chilling Halloween event, unleashing a more intense and immersive experience than ever before. And the 2025 version dares guests to brave a nightmarish adventure where fear comes to life at every turn. From sinister streets to cursed creations, new horrors await those daring enough to enter.
Of this year’s five haunted houses, three are brand new to Howl-O-Scream, while four of the six scare zones are also all-new. Several new frights will also be revealed in the weeks to come.
Among the promised highlights for 2025 are the ALL-NEW haunted houses, “The Collector’s Curse” and “The Rave Yard.” For the former, visitors step into a luxurious estate turned house of horrors, where a shadowy figure known as The Collector tempts guests with rare artifacts and ancient relics. But this estate sale hides a sinister secret – one that that pulls you deep into a twisted underworld of cursed creations and monstrous mutations.
For Rave Yard, a sinister underground rave, buried deep in the shadows of a forgotten cemetery, pulses with life – or rather, unlife. As the bass reverberates through crumbling tombstones and mausoleums glow with neon light, the dead rise with one purpose: to party…forever. The music never stops. The dead never rest. And, if you’re not careful, you’ll be dancing with the damned for eternity.
More terrifying additions will be revealed soon, including new houses, scare zones, bars and a brand-new live show. Returning fan favourites include the haunted house “Farm 51,” a haunted house infested with the terrifying aftermath of an extraterrestrial encounter; scare zones “Blood Light District,” where vampires prowl the cobblestone streets, and “Cannibal Harbor,” a decaying port where the fog never lifts; and themed bars “Tormented” and “Carnevil Curiosities.” The popular high-energy show Monster Stomp also returns for another haunting season.
