Brick or Treat returns to LEGOLAND Florida for more spooky fun!

LEGOLAND Florida Brick or Treat

Back this year, and even bigger and better than ever, the Brick or Treat event makes a welcome return to LEGOLAND Florida for 2018!

Running on nine brick-tastic dates through October, and included in the park’s regular entry price, there will be plenty for the youngsters in your group (and also the young at heart!) to enjoy. We’ve mentioned some of the things that you can do at LEGOLAND in our previous blog on Child-friendly days out in Florida, and these continue to operate over the Halloween event. LEGOLAND’s special Halloween party is built with kids in mind and runs throughout the day rather than as a purely evening event (10am - 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays and 10am - 7pm on Halloween itself). This is especially helpful for parties with young children who struggle to stay awake past their regular bedtimes!

The focus at LEGOLAND is on non-scary, kooky spooky fun and if your children are aged 12 or under they can take part in the annual Brick or Treat Trail. As the kids make their way along the themed trail, they will get their fill of sweet treats from a variety of costumed characters, including pirates, ghosts, goblins and witches! You could also throw some ghoulish shapes at the Monster Bash, a party with dancing, bubbles, music and monsters!

If you want to meet with some special LEGO characters then Brick or Treat is the perfect opportunity; the LEGO Mummy, Frankenstein, Witch, Mad Scientist and Lord Vampyre are all on hand for special meet and greets, and this year they are joined by the Spider Lady – a vampire with a love of all things to do with spiders! Pick up a LEGOLAND Guide online or as you enter the park, which has all the meet and greet times for these characters and their locations.

TIP: If you are keen to catch up with a particular character you might want to meet them first, and then check in with the other meet and greets as the day goes on; the earlier meet and greet times are likely to be a little quieter before the crowds arrive at the park!

Brick or Treat LEGO activities

You can’t go to LEGOLAND and not play with the LEGO! Fortunately there are some special building activities laid on with a Halloween twist! Why not try your hand at creating a spider that the Spider Lady would love to meet, and then have your photo taken with giant models such as the world’s biggest LEGO pumpkin or even a spook-tacular Halloween hearse! There is also the chance to help the Master Model Builders create a giant venomous snake!

The folk at LEGOLAND are planning on wowing you with some fang-tastic live shows this year, so take a seat as The Groovin’ Graveyard makes a welcome return to the fold with their unique take on drumming and percussion that is bound to get you tapping along! New to LEGOLAND this year are a couple of special trick-or-treaters who are ready to solve the Candy-Coated Curse – a brand new live-action show filled with song and dance over at the LEGO City Stage.

After all the fun and games you’ll want to grab a bite to eat, and I don’t just mean the goodies available on the Brick or Treat Trail! In addition to the regular food and drink offered at the park, you’ll be in sweet heaven with the selection of Halloween-themed offerings available; why not take a sip of drink from your event-themed Coca-Cola collector’s cup, or nibble on some yummy pumpkin spice apple fries?

Make your memories last as you pick up some exclusive goodies from the seasonal Be-A-Minifigure Costume Shop, which offers more than 20 minifigure outfits. If you spend over $50 you’ll also receive the LEGO Penguin Girl Snow Hut!*

Brick or Treat LEGOLAND fireworks

Rounding off the day’s events is the spectacular fireworks display and The Tale of Pirates’ Cove show, which is bound to make your evening go with a bang! Be a part of the action as Captain Dreadbeard goes to battle with the Imperial Navy in a swashbuckling fight to save Pirates’ Cove! All of this excitement is followed by an amazing fireworks display high above Lake Eloise, which is enhanced by the complimentary LEGO viewing glasses making it appear as if every flash of light is exploding into little LEGO bricks!

If you are planning on heading to this year’s Brick or Treat, the dates are as follows:

October 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th and 31st. Please note that the events schedule on Wednesday 31st are limited, for example the fireworks and Pirate Cove show are not held on this day, so check the LEGOLAND website for full details when you are planning your trip.

It’s also worth remembering that it might well be hot during the day, so dress appropriately, or take a change of clothes especially if your kids are wearing heavy Halloween costumes.

If you want to upgrade your experience for the day you may be interested in the exclusive VIP Experience, which has limited availability and is offered as an add-on for $95 per head (plus tax) via LEGOLAND’s website. This upgrade includes personal character meet-and-greets and a photo, private walk through the Brick or Treat Trail, games, a dance party, food, drinks and more.

Whatever you decide to do at LEGOLAND, your kids are sure to have a great time. Why not let us know what your favourite Halloween experience at the park was, and if you have any photos we’d love to see them!
