Solterra Resort Reviews

Solterra Resort Reviews

The luxury gated community of Solterra, often considered to be one of the best resort communities in Davenport, has everything you need for your Orlando holiday. It is close to all popular theme parks including Disney, Universal and SeaWorld and has a huge selection of privately owned rental homes from 4 bedroom villas and town homes all the way up to stunning 11 bedroom villas. Many of our holiday villas have a south or west-facing pool and spa, lake view and an amazing games room to help make some fantastic holiday memories together. The resort has 5 star facilities including heated swimming pool, lazy river, gym, clubhouse and tennis courts.

One of our recent guests, Mrs Shawcross from Merseyside, spoke to us about her recent trip to Orlando.

“This was our very first time staying on Solterra and I have to say that I was not disappointed. We normally stay on one of the gated resorts in Kissimmee because they are nearer the parks and restaurants but decided to stay somewhere else this year because we needed a bigger villa. The kids loved the clubhouse and everything on offer there, on some days they didn’t want to go to the parks, they wanted to spend the day at the resort!”

Another guest, Linda Jones, from East Sussex, said something similar.

“We chose Solterra because of the resort facilities and we were not disappointed. The kids loved spending time at the clubhouse, the villa we chose was just 5 minutes’ walk from there so we allowed the older children (13 and 14) to walk there and back on their own. We met another family who live near us while we were in Orlando, and they were staying in a similar Solterra villa that they also booked through Debbie’s Villas, we have arranged to meet up when we are all back in England.”

Colin Armstrong, a guest from Norfolk, spoke highly of the activities within Solterra,

“I was worried that the older children would be bored because we didn’t plan on doing many park days. I needn’t have worried, they spent almost every day in the gym and playing tennis, we had to tear them away to do some of the family trips we had planned.”

Where is Solterra?

Solterra is in Davenport on a road called Pine Tree Trail, just off the Ronald Reagan Parkway which some people might recognise by its alternative name County Road 54. It is close to the famous ChampionsGate area and very easy to reach the I-4 Highway from here as well as the US27 and US192.

What facilities are there on Solterra?

Solterra has some of the best resort facilities in the Disney area including a large, heated swimming pool with slides and lazy river and a separate spa. The sunbathing deck has plenty of space as well as sunloungers and free to use cabanas so you can easily spend all day here topping up your tan. More active holidaymakers can stay in shape in the well-equipped gym, burning off any excess calories they might have consumed while on holiday. The outdoor tennis courts are a great place to meet up with other people looking for a game or two, with rackets available to borrow at the clubhouse if necessary. The kiddie’s play area is somewhere safe that younger children can go to enjoy themselves as they make full use of the swings, climbing frames and slides. The clubhouse has plenty of seats for you to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or to watch the latest programme in the TV lounge, it’s also a great place to meet other holidaymakers staying on Solterra.

How far is Solterra from Disney World, Universal and other Orlando theme parks?

Obviously depending on which way you go, the time of year and the local traffic conditions, but Disney World theme parks can generally be reached in approximately 15-20 minutes from leaving Solterra, often the quickest and most direct route is along the I-4 Highway although an alternative suggestion might be to travel along N Old Lake Wilson Road. SeaWorld and Discovery Cove are just 20-25 minutes away from here, again using the I-4 Highway, and Universal Resorts, home to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay water park could take as little as half an hour to reach.

How far is Solterra from the airport?

Solterra is easy to reach from all of the major airports in Florida because it is so close to the I-4 Highway. Orlando International, or MCO as it is also known, is 25-30 minutes away, Sanford airport is just less than an hour away from here and Tampa International will take about 65-70 minutes to reach. A little further away, but convenient for some travellers, Orlando’s other airport, Melbourne International is about an hour and a half away.

Many people who come to Solterra for their family holiday choose to spend a day or two enjoying one of the many golf courses in the area. These golf courses are considered to be some of the best courses in the Kissimmee and Davenport area, but no matter what your level of play is you are bound to find a suitable course within a short drive of the community.
