Most Romantic Activities to do in Orlando

People making a heart shape with their hands in the sunset

When looking at locations for a couple’s getaway, Orlando may not be one you think of first. People often see Orlando as a family holiday destination, and while it is perfect for this type of getaway, it is also fantastic for couples.

It is home to many beautiful and intimate activities that are perfect for lovers who are longing for some quality time together. Old or young, new couple or married for years, there are plenty of things to do in Orlando to keep the spark alive.

Enjoy Some Jazz Music

What better way to spend some much-needed time together than having a few drinks and listening to some live jazz music? The V Lounge at Eddie V’s Prime Seafood near Universal is the perfect location for a romantic evening. With plenty of cocktails on the menu, unwind and enjoy some civilised seduction with the stylish rhythms of jazz musicians.

Start the Morning Right with A Hot Air Balloon Flight

Although this experience is pricier than others, a hot air balloon ride is arguably one of the most romantic activities possible; just you two and the beautiful skies! There are a few companies dotted around Orlando that offer hot air balloon rides for two, and with the early morning rise, you can watch Florida wake up and come to life.

Riding in a hot air balloon is also an incredibly breathtaking experience and one to tick off the bucket list! Whether you are celebrating an anniversary, birthday or simply want an adventure together, this activity is perfect.

Enjoy the Views at The Top of The Wheel at ICON Park

Much like the London Eye, the 400ft observation wheel at ICON Park, which is located on International Drive, is a spectacular attraction. The views from The Wheel are incredible and boast remarkable views of Orlando from a bird’s eye perspective.

Each rotation takes 23 minutes, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the views of central Florida. Every capsule on the ride offers space for up to 15 people, but if you would prefer a one-to-one experience, you can upgrade to a premium package. There is also the option to upgrade to the new Sky Bar package, including a generous offer of craft beer and wine, all whilst you ride The Wheel.

Go for A Rooftop Dinner

Spend some time with loved ones and enjoy delicious food, fine wine and breath-taking views on a romantic rooftop in Orlando. We would highly recommend visiting Capa at Four Seasons, a Spanish steakhouse that boasts incredible views of Walt Disney World!

Observe the area lit up over a candle-lit dinner and talk into the late hours. If you are lucky enough and book a rooftop dinner close to the Disney resorts, you can enjoy the fantastic fireworks display too! We would recommend the California Grill for the best fireworks dining experience at Disney World.

If you’re staying in or near one of our Reunion villas in Orlando, the Eleven restaurant is worth a visit. It has amazing rooftop views, as well as a glimpse of the Walt Disney World fireworks!

Take Part in a Cooking Class

Whether you opt for a private lesson or group session, a cooking class is both a place to learn skills to take home and bond. Put a spin on date night and pick up some fresh cooking ideas, while having fun together preparing some delicious food. There are a variety of classes to choose from; cooking, baking and even chocolate making!

We would recommend visiting Tapa Toro in ICON Park for a brilliant cooking class! Alternatively, if you are in Orlando between September and November, you can visit the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival where you can experience demonstrations from food industry pros!

We also love the fact that once you have learnt the skills, you can start to use them back at your villa and enjoy a romantic dinner together.

Unwind at A Luxury Spa

Spend some time together and unwind at a spa during your time in Orlando. Relax with some TLC during a soothing massage and drift off to the scent of calming oils and gentle music. A holiday is meant for relaxing and forgetting about day-to-day life, so what better activity than a relaxing spa day? For a more romantic and special experience, opt for a luxury spa with facilities such as a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and plenty of champagne to celebrate!

We recommend the fantastic Reunion Resort Spa who “embrace a personalised approach in providing indulgences that enliven the senses, soothe the body and replenish the spirit”, doesn’t this sound delightful?

We also love the Mokara Spa at ChampionsGate where you can enjoy a variety of lavish, peaceful spa treatments from massages, facials and body wraps, to manicures and pedicures.

For those who are a little adventurous and want to experience something incredible, we suggest going kayaking with your loved one at sunset. From Lake Virginia to Lake Maitland, there are numerous spots in Orlando that offer the perfect romantic setting for kayaking.

There are multiple companies that offer kayak tours, which provide you with all of the necessary equipment, as well as professionals showing you tips and tricks for your experience. By going on a tour, you can also ensure you are in the right place at the right time for the perfect sunset shot.

Romance with Some Vino

Wine tasting is both a fun and romantic activity. Spend some quality time together, sampling some delicious wine from local vineyards, as well as worldwide. Learn how to professionally taste wine and discover the different notes in each sip.

There are many vineyards across Orlando with many boasting incredible scenery and grounds to explore after trying the many varieties of wine. Vineyards are incredibly romantic so you can be assured to have a special day together. You could also look at taking part in a wine tour so you can learn and discover the whole process of making the delightful beverage.

A beautiful spot to visit is the Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards; with 80+ acres of planted vineyards and currently ranking as Florida's largest premium winery, we believe you will have a lovely time here! We would also recommend visiting the Quantum Leap Winery, while smaller in size, this place is great for an intimate and relaxing experience.

Stroll Through Leu Gardens

For a splendid daytime activity, we highly recommend going for a stroll through Leu Gardens; these botanical gardens are stunning! With the 50-acres of greenery and colour, there is lots to explore. From azaleas and bromeliads, to camphor trees and oaks, the grounds are a beautiful setting for a date.

The breath-taking location is often a favourite for weddings, so you can be sure to have a romantic experience wandering through the botanical beauty. Pack a picnic and head off to Leu Gardens for a day of exploring and romance.

America is well known for horseback riding, so why not try it out yourself while you are there? With many stables and trails dotted around Orlando, you won’t struggle to find the perfect spot to go for your day out.

Explore rich woodlands with stunning views while riding horseback and spend some time together unwinding. You might be lucky to spot some of the fascinating wildlife that lives in Orlando as well, such as woodpeckers, bald eagles and turkey vultures!

For an ultra-romantic experience, visit the All Hitched Up ranch as they offer sunset lake horseback riding! Alternatively, you can take a trip to the Lazy H Ranch for a peaceful and relaxing escape.

Ride a Swan Boat

Lake Eola’s swan boats are located in a beautiful setting, and it is the perfect romantic activity as you can escape from day-to-day life and spend time just the two of you.

We would highly recommend visiting the lake at sunset; that way, you can enjoy the spectacular skies while you paddle around. Afterwards, you can head to one of the local restaurants for a bite to eat or take a picnic with you and enjoy a sit down on the lawn by the lake.
